Since 1988 we have been designing façade cladding, natural stone above all, and the anchor systems that hold it. Our work is on buildings by Zaha Hadid, Foster + Partners, SOM and HOK, from Algiers to New York.

What we engineer

We engineer natural stone for architects, contractors and stone companies.

Stone consulting, cladding and anchor systems

Design of the cladding system for façades, interiors and paving: the slab layout, the anchor that carries each slab and the substructure behind it.

Project management

We follow the stone works of a project on behalf of the client, from the first drawings to the finished cladding.

Tested at full scale before it is built

Some systems are proven at full scale before they reach the building. For the Museum of Etruscan Art in Milan, the curved fins in pietra forte fiorentina were built as a mock-up and their adjustable anchors were tested on a rig.

A studio in Massa, a few kilometres from the Carrara quarries

Elios Engineering was founded in 1988 by Adelmo Biamino. We work in two areas: stone consulting, cladding and engineered anchor systems, and project management.

We have engineered façades and interiors in Italy and across Europe, in the Middle East, in Africa and in the United States, for clients such as Alpha AS, Astaldi, Casone Group, Henraux, Mariotti Carlo & Figli and SIMI.
